FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is my image uploaded anywhere when I sharpen it?
No. The sharpening is computed locally in your browser using the Canvas API. It never leaves your device.
How does sharpening work?
It uses a convolution filter that increases contrast at edges, making detail appear crisper — this is the same "unsharp mask" technique used in photo editors.
Can oversharpening cause artifacts?
Yes, very high strength can introduce a harsh, over-processed look or visible noise, especially on already-sharp images. Start low and increase gradually.
Does this add detail that wasn't there?
No, it can't recover detail lost to blur or low resolution — it only enhances existing edge contrast.
