    Frequently asked questions

    Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. All processing happens locally in your browser using pdf-lib. Your file is never uploaded to Calcooo or any server.

How do I choose where to split?

Enter comma-separated page numbers marking the end of each chunk, e.g. "3,7" on a 10-page PDF creates pages 1-3, 4-7, 8-10. Leave the field blank to split every page into its own file.

    What do I get back?

If the split results in a single file, you get a direct PDF download. Otherwise you get a ZIP archive containing each split PDF.

    Does splitting affect quality?

No. Pages are copied as-is, so text, images and formatting stay exactly as they were in the original file.
