FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere when I add page numbers?
No. Everything happens locally in your browser using the pdf-lib JavaScript library. Your file is never uploaded to Calcooo or any server.
Can I start numbering from something other than 1?
Yes. Set any starting number you like in the "Start numbering at" field — this is useful when this PDF continues from another document.
What position options are available?
You can place the page number at the bottom center, bottom right, bottom left, top center, top right or top left of each page.
Can I change the format, like "Page 1 of 10"?
Yes. Choose from a plain number, a "Page X" prefix, or a "Page X of Y" format that also shows the total page count.
