    What information does this show?

    Page count, word and character counts from the extractable text, file size, the PDF format version, and any embedded document metadata like title, author, subject and creation date.

    Why do word/character counts show 0 for some PDFs?

    A scanned or image-based PDF has no embedded text layer to count — use the OCR PDF tool first if you need to extract text from a scan.

    Can I edit this metadata?
