    Frequently asked questions

    Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere?

No. Every PDF is compressed locally in your browser using pdf.js, pdf-lib and JSZip — nothing is uploaded to a server.

    How does the compression work?

This tool uses the same technique as the single-file Compress PDF tool — each page is re-rendered as a JPEG image at your chosen compression level and reassembled into a new PDF, one file at a time across the whole batch.

    Will text stay selectable?

No, since pages are rasterized to images, text becomes part of the image and is no longer selectable or searchable. Use this tool when file size matters more than text selection.

    What do I download?

A single ZIP file containing every compressed PDF, keeping original filenames.
